FAVERSHAM AND DISTRICT YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE CUP COMPETITION RULES 2024-25

The Faversham and District Youth League (FDYFL) handbook rules apply with the following additions:

Except where defined as open competitions, competitions shall be confined to Clubs in the FDYFL.

Only players registered in accordance with League rules are permitted to play in the competitions. A player shall not play for more than one team in the same competition in the same season. Any club/team playing unregistered or ineligible players will be expelled from the competition.

If scores are level at the end of the duration of play, there will not be any extra time. The outcome shall be decided by the taking of penalty kicks.

  • Three penalties shall be taken by each team. The team scoring the most penalties will be adjudged the winners.
  • Only players on the field of play at the end of the normal game are permitted to take penalties.  Should the scores be level after both teams have taken three penalties each, the outcome will be determined by sudden death penalties.
  • Only the original three penalty takers are permitted to take penalties in the sudden death, and this must be in the same order the three previous penalties were taken in. Penalties will be taken until a team has been determined as the winner.

If a team fails to fulfil a fixture for any reason other than pitch conditions or a school event that means they have insufficient registered players to meet the minimum number of players required to play, the game will be awarded to the opposition. The team cancelling the game will be charged under league rules (20B) for cancelling the game.
