FDYFL Power Play Rules

  • Power Play is only valid for 5v5 and 7v7 formats.

  • Trigger Point: When a team falls behind by four goals, they may add one additional outfield player (e.g. 5v5 becomes 6v5, and 7v7 becomes 8v7).

  • Additional Player: If the goal difference increases to five or more, the losing team may add a second additional outfield player (e.g. 7v5 and 9v7 maximum).

  • Maximum Limit: A team may field a maximum of two additional players under the Power Play rule.

  • Player Removal – Five Goal Difference: If the goal difference reduces to less than five, the team must remove one additional player.

  • Player Removal – Four Goal Difference: If the goal difference reduces to less than four, the team must remove the second additional player.

  • Substitution Flexibility: Players removed during Power Play reduction do not need to be the same players added. Any player on the field may be withdrawn.
